Holds three top songwriting awards, including the Kerrville New Folk Competition’s Best New Folk Award, Boston Music Award for Outstanding Folk Act and Grand Prize in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest. Antje Duvekot has solidified her reputation as one of America’s top emerging singer songwriters with “Big Dream Boulevard” her debut studio release. This release was voted “#1 Folk Release of 2006″ by the Boston Globe and was named to the “Top10 Releases of the Year” by National Public Radio’s, Folk Alley. In 2008, Antje released her second studio album “The Near Demise of the Highwire Dancer” which was produced by singer songwriter Richard Shindell to similar critical acclaim. According to Maverick Magazine “The Near Demise of the Highwire Dancer is a beautifully crafted album of contemporary folk by an aawrd winning songwriter whose intimate and visceral lyrics strike an emotional chord”. Now, she’s culled half a decade of live performances into a unique and wonderful release called Antje Duvekot Live from All Over the Place that features many of her peers such as Ellis Paul, Chris O’Brien, Natalia Zukerman, Anne Heaton and other staples of the contemporary folk scene. It is more spontaneous than her studio albums and includes anecdotes about the songs and audience reaction. it also features numerous cover tracks by artists like Townes van Zandt and Queen.
