    上个世纪六十年代的美国流行乐，民谣都有点百老汇味道。在港台早期的流行乐里面，这种味道也不少见。你很难形容这种味道，似乎那个时候的留声技术下，弦乐的声音非常有特点。但是又转念一想，那个时候的音乐，其实管乐也很有特点，萨克斯的低音一出来，仿佛就天旋地转回到上个世纪了。同名的《The End of the World》婉转动人，丝毫不媚俗，Skeeter Davis就凭这一首歌就足以确立在美国乡村音乐中举足轻重的地位了。
