眼下，哈萨克乐队IZ的专辑《影子》（IZ：Kolêngkê），正在受到音乐圈内人士的广泛关注。
谢天笑形容他听过后的感受是”震撼“：“这是我所听到的民族音乐和现代音乐结合得最完美的例子……我为身边有这样的音乐人而感到自豪。”
张晓舟则说：“马木尔是中国最重要的现代音乐家之一。没请IZ乐队，各大音乐节就不能吹嘘自己‘囊括国内最好的乐队’。他们曾经是最好的民谣乐队，但民谣热并没有惠及他们，他们现在是牛逼的摇滚乐队，只是摇滚圈压根还不知道。”
《影子》用哈萨克语演唱，六首词（曲）据哈萨克歌谣改编。马木尔“对民歌的歌词偶或有个别改动，但对古诗原封不动，不单因为古哈萨克诗歌的诗意绝妙，还因为有的词句在今天的哈萨克语已经不存或者含义有变，更重要的是古老的严格音节和韵律不容打破。”1
张晓舟还说：“这也是为什么马木尔一直对翻译歌词顾虑重重，至今仍排斥在专辑中刊印中英文歌词翻译，因为翻译出来的顶多是‘歌词大意’，而几乎丧失全部韵律节奏之美，并且有些词不可能在中英文中找到对应。古哈萨克语带有浓厚的游牧社会生活色彩，太初有道，血浓于水，很多词蕴含了奇异的隐喻和音韵，今天甚至在哈萨克语中都在不断流失，更别说能够在另一种语言尤其是汉语中找到影子。”
《影子》专辑里没有印行歌词，哈萨克语、汉语、英语都没有。我向乐队经纪人穆谦讨来了中英文译词，征得其同意，贴在这里。
