　　South Carolina's "Harvest Rain" are back with their latest album "The Land of Tears is So Mysterious". This is their long-awaited follow-up to the superb "Blood Hymns" that they released over five long years ago. With new faces and old alike (Jason A. Thompkins with Joseph Pine and Juan A. of Der Arbeiter), it is a mixture of their haunting dark cemetery folk music with a more Cold Wave (or what the press has labeled them as "Ghost Wave") sound with very subtle drum beats and ghostly keyboards. All this with Jason Thompkins' very unique Southern voice and his use of themes from nature to describe his deepest feelings. When it was first announced, this new album was said to be Jason's most "personal" statement to date. What this "statement" is one can only guess. We are immediately brought to the beginning with a song about "Southern Soil" and the light of a Black Sun. With a God who walks behind rows of Corn and the Rune "Odal" is cast to represent Ancestry. So immediately one is to understand Jason is still praising his Southern and Germanic Ancestry. Then come songs with the well known "Her" and "She" that has been a major part of Harvest Rain's music. However we never do find out who this "Her" and "She" is and something says we probably never will after all these years. The theme of a Ghost is found in the song "The Top of the Stairs" which is quite eerie in it's simplicity, yet haunting keys and lyrics. As if an apparitional Love Affair is taking place or perhaps a memory. Another highlight of this album is the song "The Butterfly and Morning Star" which is a new and improved version (not to mention with some sort of magickal "intent" as one press release said) of the classic "My Butterfly". Once again we hear the great writer and explorer Miguel Serrano chant some words towards the morning star and to the beloved as Cathedral bells are rang in precise tune. This has been a long-awaited album and one can imagine that the fans of Harvest Rain are ready to hear what new material they have been up to for the past five years.（来自Harvest Rain主脑Jason的唱片介绍）
