Any variation is a sin. But Stephane's music teaches new meaning in violin player. Stephane, despite his age, was able to play the devilish and beautiful tunes in such speed and effortlessly. Stephane music is pure ease, joy, happiness and almost spritual. Stephane Grapelli recordings during the 90s, as well as the classical ones, are all the author's favourite.
　　One of the author's most favorite LP is Stephane Grappelli plays Jerome Kern.The LP, GRP 1032, was released in 1987, when Stephane has already attended perfection both in terms of techniques and musical emotions. Jerome Kern's music was transformed into an immaculate beauty by Stephane.

　　Review:
　　The first track Smoke Gets In Your Eyes, makes one wonder how this simple tune be made so much at eased, so relaxed and lovely. Especially the part when Stephane plays a short passage of pizzicato, makes one like in heaven. It is simple beautify. Marc Fosset's humming, in unison with his guitar, also blends in with the violin extremely well.
　　Track 3, Can't help loving that man, shows Stephane's beautify playing with the violin and the tune is full of emotions. Perhaps, even more beautify than any lady singing her own yearning. The tune is simple, but Stephane has injected a life and feeling that possibility none other cannot deliver, with such ease.
　　Track 4 A fine Romance takes an interesting twist, with the orchestra and the guitar providing an opening and Stephane's violin comes in like a nightingale. No romance can be as sweet and charming as how Stephane has put it. Stephane then turn the tune into his own Cadenza and pass it Marc, with one wonders how much improvisation and variation is possible by Stephane.
　　Track 10, I won't dance reminded me of Louis Armstrong's singing, but with much more European refinement and elegance. It makes one feel like Stephane was dancing, swaying his violin as he plays! Stephane is perfect in his intonation and rythmn. After the main theme, as usual, Stephane takes off to his own improvisation and started a wonderful dance. Listen and you will dance with him.
　　The final track Long and Far Away has a piano introduction which I wonders if it was played by Stephane himself. When Stephane's violin came in, it is so musical and melodious. I am sure if Stephane were to play Beethoven's violin concerto, it will be most beautiful concerto played, but it was a pity he never did that. As the piano returned again, I am more convinced that it was played by Stephane himself.
　　The recording of the LP is simply superb. The sound is very transparent and well balaned. There are no harshness and very smooth. All in all, beautiful and wonderful.If there is only one LP I can have, this will be it.
