From two subjects, an old movement is converged: birth. How does the body record these words, allowing them to be captured again through a movement? The narrative fountain spirals upwards, urging one to return to its source. We turn our gaze back to the dance: with each movement, the conscious echoes within, awakening, forming precise words; they simultaneously guide the gaze, looking here, not there. Is it memory or imagery that triggered by this moment? The way we create image is associated with the simultaneous exploration between movement and vocalization in our early life. Movement and vocalization interact to make each individual body a unique container of memory. In Narrative Fountain, we seek to show this form of memory in the body itself, and how it could be evoked through movement in a creative way. The 'gaze of the viewer' is consciously brought into the creation of the dance. Perhaps the individual way of moving and vocalizing is also influencing the way how one sees a moving body.
