All songs produced by DJ Zeph, Raw Elements Production. This record has fourteen tracks and one guest emcee by the name of Gennessee the Chosen Son, who appears on song number nine which is called 'No limitations.' The album starts with a track called 'Castaway the Stowaways' which has a simple but ultrafresh acoustic bassline over drumbeat fantastic, and finally the smooth poetic flow that floats in over the beat and sets the tone for the album with L*RONEOUS rhyming about "a little wooden vessel set afloat with few passengers/ rhythms flapped the sail/ for a voyage where they wailed/thoughts /yelled thoughts/plotted over party grooves/ but soon the party kinda grew/and everybody kinda grew/when the money came thru..." He gives a great metaphor about hip-hop's current state by describing the simple wooden vessel with few passengers eventually being replaced with a huge yacht full of stowaways who snuck in, or bought their way onto the boat. "The fakes moving in, to mix and mingle with the voyagers." The songs on this album are not like normal songs on normal hip hop albums. The majority of the tracks do not have things like a chorus or an intro, or even a break in the drums. Just a fresh beat and vivid descriptive, metephoric flow. Very smooth sounding. More like paintings then songs. Track number three is called Lchemy. This is the track I had heard before purchasing the album. I think it was the first and perhaps only single from the album realeased on vinyl. It has a fresh fast paced push with perfect horns and dope drum configuration. L demonstrates his versitility giving visions of "Cold Crush Incriments," and "Crush Groove Combustion" on this "instruction in rhyme known as Lchemy." Fresh track. However, they are all very fresh, these tracks on this album, but one there was, I must say, seemed noticeably way less fresh than the others, and thats is the song featuring Gennessee. To me he seemed like a beginning unsure cliche type typical gust emcee with a dunnish style so similar with so many who just really weigh the track down so it never gets off the ground. Who am I to say that though. I got my particulars tatstes and such so I suppose to many, this cat really carried the track. One thing that can't be debated however is L*RONEOUS on this track and the rest...Consistently dope. He has a very unique way of expressing himself with his words. You can tell he was born to write these poems and make these songs. The title track is wonderful, the flutes, the metal drums. People should listen closely with clear open minds to this record, I think they would enjoy it. Three thumbs up.
