Initially intended as a single to feature their song "Si tu sais pas" –an irresistible techno-pop gem which Souvenir wrote and recorded after the release of "64"- it has eventually become a real treat for fans which includes their cover version of Blondie’s "Hanging on the telephone" (which Souvenir are performing live on their current tour), three remixes of songs from "64", and their amazing first-ever video of the song "Allô, allô". So "Extras 64" features two brand new tracks, a video and three remixes which give songs from "64" an even more dance-oriented dimension. For this task Souvenir have chosen artists on their same wavelength, such as Johan Agebjörn (the Swedish producer and songwriter who’s responsible for the success of this year’s brilliant debutante Sally Shapiro) who has taken "Allô, allô" to new dancefloor heights, or Spanish singer Miqui Puig, who has remixed ‘Une semaine en ballon’. Also, Souvenir’s Jaime Cristóbal has revamped his own "Accident à Londres". These new 5 dancefloor fillers are topped by a brilliant video produced and directed by Spanish ace company Producciones Entrelíneas. The video takes the avant-garde aesthetics of "64" further on and the result is a pleasure to the eye, with a special mention to Patricia, whose appearance on the video is especially captivating. Iker Spozio, again, is responsible for the "Extras 64" artwork, and Arturo Vaquero has been in charge of the mastering. Tracklist: 1. "Si tu sais pas" – A mixture of NY Disco and 80’s techno sound with breathy French vocals make this a true club floorfiller, and hints at the future sound of Souvenir, a more minimalistic, sober take, which echoes the retro sound of Bobby O or the neo-retro funk of bands like Chromeo. 2. "Allô, allô" (Johan Agebjörn remix) – The acclaimed Swedish wunderkind recreates one of the most brilliant tracks on "64" completely. His remix is an elegant piece of crescendoing dance music which features Eurodisco basslines, vocoder vocals and atmospheric synths, thus creating the perfect environment for Jaime’s tremolo guitar and Patricia’s vocals, which sound sharper and more sophisticated than ever. 3. "Une semaine en ballon" (miquipuig&molatopefogremix) – Miqui Puig, one of Spain’s most interesting pop creators, made this original remix in a foggy morning at his Molatope Room studio in Catalonia. The track includes a human bassline sung by Miqui, stylophones, and other instruments. A truly charming revamp of this song. 4. "Accident à Londres" (Jaime Cristóbal remix) – Jaime transforms 64’s opening track into a true blast for the dancefloor, complete with trance basslines and vintage synths, which portrait an even more dramatic accident in London (featuring authentic sound from ambulances recorded in London!). 5. "Hanging on the telephone" – This is the closing track in Souvenir’s current concerts, and it’s finally available on record. This version of the Nerves’ classic which Blondie made famous in 1978 is a fresh mixture of techno-pop and rock n’roll. Souvenir have always made brilliant cover versions on their records, so this one makes up for the lack of any versions on "64".
