They have released two singles to date, with an album scheduled for release in 2008. They have garnered a large teenage fanbase from playing All Ages club nights, even playing the first ever Underage Festival, in August 2007. Samuel Eastgate also has a side-project, La Priest, often written incorrectly as LA Priest. He has numerous productions and has made several remixes, as well as having the song "Engine" being remixed by Erol Alkan and released via Erol’s Phantasy Sound label. History Late of the Pier formed in 2004. They released their bedroom recordings, the fourteen-track Zarcorp Demo through their myspace page for free. Their debut single, Space And The Woods, was released through WayOutWest Records in March 2007 b/w A Heartbeat. A Flicker. A Line (previously known as '7Beat' or 'Heartbeat' from the Zarcorp Demo). This was limited to 500 copies only. Their second single, Bathroom Gurgle, was produced by Erol Alkan and released in September 2007 by Moshi Moshi Records. Like their previous release, this was also limited to 500 copies. An edit of Broken appeared on the Kitsune Maison 5 compilation credited as the Fairy Lights remix. However, this was just an edit of the track by the band, with no such act as Fairy Lights existing. Their third single, The Bears Are Coming, is to be released on 12" and download, and is being released through their own Zarcorp label. It will be backed with remixes by Emperor Machine, Beyond The Wizard's Sleeve and Joakim. A 7" of the track, backed with b-side Piss Hands, was sold exclusively at gigs during their February 2008 tour. They have opened 2007's Carling Weekend on the NME/Radio One stage, and have performed support slots for Hadouken! and Soulwax on recent tour dates. They are currently recording their as-yet untitled debut album, which will be released by Parlophone in May 2008. Musical Style Their style has often been compared to the artists Gary Numan, Brian Eno, Frank Zappa and the more contemporary Klaxons, mainly due to the prominent use of synthesisers in their music and the lyrical similarities
