It's a day to be introspective, to treat oneself to the pleasures of thought and maybe wander out of the gaze of the mind's eye just a little, allowing yourself to dream. Sunday nights are hellish. The requirement of sleep is reluctantly forced upon the mind, but the mind refuses, instead fluttering and flirting with impossible thoughts of faraway lands and ambition, with each notion running full steam ahead into the next. The result is a state of flux between sleep and conscious that makes Monday all the more confusing and mundane, all because on Sundays - more than on any other day - every time you close your eyes, your feet lift off the floor. 'On Sundays I Dream' is a reflection on both sides of a day that deserves to be different from the rest. The lyrics were written in the restless early hours of the morning and the guitar parts were borne through a collaboration between Mike Hemsley and Max Fotheringham which culminated in a sunny day of late summer recording in Mike's apartment in downtown Brussels, courtesy of the analogue mixers and the analogue mind of Wouter Gordts. Effects were later added to the mix at the Higher Living Studio. The result is to be enjoyed.
