This project is intended to make a live performance remix of Nujabes' previously unreleased track "Child's Attraction" by New York based producer/DJ Joe Claussell, who Nujabes loved and respected during his lifetime. The project's CDs, vinyls, T-Shirts will be exclusively released through this site.

Nujabesがその音楽、世界観を心から賞賛していたJoe Clausell。生前は共同制作を実現する機会が訪れなかったJoe Claussellとの、悲願のコラボレーション企画。

概要 / Outline

Nujabesは敬愛するJoe Claussellに多大な影響を受け、現世に叙情的で美しい楽曲を遺した。Joe Claussell自らが、Nujabesのそのメロディを鮮やかに蘇らせ、メッセージを込めるトリビュートリミックス。

プロジェクトメンバーは、Hydeout productions、King Street Soundsのスタッフで立ち上げさせていただきました。

Nujabesが設立したレーベル、Hydeout productionsにはいくつかの美しいHouseトラックがあります。

メタフォリカルなヒップホップトラックメーカーとして、つねに第一線の現場に立っていたNujabesがHouse音源も制作していたのは、Joe Claussell率いるMental Remedyを意識していたのも理由の一つです。

プロジェクトの目的はJoe Claussellに、彼が率いるミュージシャンとの生演奏リミックスの制作を依頼し、最高のカタチでNujabesの想いを実現させ、世界中のファンに届けることです。NujabesとJoe Claussell、２つの芸術的なスピリチュアル・サウンドが融合する、我々が渇望した夢の共演をHydeout productionsが渾身のアナログ盤として全ての支援者と分かち合い、Nujabesの夢を共有したいと思います。

アートワークにはHydeout productionsで数々の作品を手掛けてきたFJDが担当してくれます。この企画のCD,アナログ、T-shirtsは本プロジェクトのみリリースを行います。 また、アナログ盤にご支援頂いた全ての方のお名前を「Special Thanks」の項目に記載致します。

Influenced by Joe, Nujabes left us a lyrical and beautiful song "Child's Attraction". This remix will breathe a life into the song and bring its beauty into existence, a tribute, a message from the living to the departed.

Project members include Mao Yamada, Yohei Nishijima of Hydeout Production, and Munenori Iimura from King Street Sounds.

Hydeout, which Nujabes founded in 1999, still has unreleased tracks, including some amazingly beautiful house music.

So why was metaphorical hip-hop track maker Nujabes making house music? There is a secret behind that. As written above, Nujabes was fascinated by Joe Claussell and Mental Remedy, and Nujabes was consciously taking part in the forefront of the music industry with that in mind.

The goal of this project is to manifest Nujabes' passion for his fans around the globe in the best possible form through a live performance remixing executed by Joe Claussell with musicians at his helm. Harmonizing Nujabes' clear sound and Joe Claussell's artistic spiritual sound, we hope to share Nujabes' dream.

The artwork will be handled by FJD, known by numerous works on Hydeout productions. The project's CDs, vinyls, T-Shirts will be exclusively released through this site. Everyone who funded will have their name enrolled on the vinyl as special thanks.
