The second of the 7 New Wonders of the World that TPG have filmed at. (Kung Fu Piano at the Great Wall of China, of course, being number one) It had to have both, a South American feel, and a religious aspect to be the right choice for the location. A lot of TPG songs are done before a location is even thought about, but the ones that have a location in mind do hold their own without the video. This song is, definitely, no exception. The first song choice is from the movie The Mission; 1986 Robert de Niro and Jeremy Irons. “18th century Spanish Jesuits try to protect a remote South American Indian tribe in danger of falling under the rule of pro-slavery Portugal.” -IMDB The main theme of the song is Gabriel's Oboe and has the ability to sound both happy and sad at the same time. Full of emotion and purpose, it also has an easily recognizable melody that is present throughout the Piano Guys' version. The other song choice, appropriately, is How Great Thou Art. One of the all time favorite Christian hymns, How Great Thou Art is a perfect choice for the location. Also, the way in which it blends seamlessly with Gabiel's Oboe is nothing short of remarkable; almost as if the songs were made (or waiting) to go together. It's also fitting, the other location in the video is Iguazu Falls. (Where Gabriel plays his oboe in the film). The song doesn't need to reel you in, it starts right off the bat with Gabriel's Oboe and stays strong all the way through to the end. About a minute in, it shifts to How Great Thou Art, while keeping Gabriel in the background. Jon carries Oboe for about a minute while Steven carries How Great. At about 2 minutes, it seems as if the song will end, but then reprises for a final flourish of Oboe (and some cymbals) and finally ends with How Great on a long note, similar to Bring Him Home. My first experience with the song brought me to tears. As did the second viewing. The passion, spirituality, strength, and drive of both songs are easily heard through Jon and Steven's playing. Anyone who doesn't notice this song is an important one to The Piano Guys, hasn't listened to it. The song uses plenty of held and prolonged notes, so the cello definitely stands out. The ratio of cello to piano sounds about 70/30, but the piano adds an element to the song that the cello just can't duplicate. The Mission/How Great Thou Art may not beat out hits like What Makes You Beautiful, or Peponi, but it certainly will hold its own. (I already know more than one person who will call this song their favorite.)

高中的时候开始看The Piano Guys的MV,后来才去找专辑听。更喜欢MV,喜欢他们认真演奏的样子。看样子他们是真爱音乐,弹琴、拉琴,一脸享受、幸福的样子。
