The opening, and title track, sets the precedent of sombre tone and overlain sparkles of electronics and guitars. ‘Persistent Suitor’ and ‘Lose A Friend’ are bizarrely reminiscent of the Florida outfit Black Kids, in a way that seems elusive and wrong, but undeniable – regardless of this, the EP’s central tracks form the musical backbone before resting on single and closer ‘Chances’. A well-formed number which weaves its emotion before opening the musical throttle and bringing a strong EP to a wonderfully clattering close. Essentially, rather than send you to sleep in a boring sense, The Machine Room will send you straight into euphoric and blissful dreams, in the most positive sense. https://www.facebook.com/themachineroom http://themachineroommusic.tumblr.com/
