The Border Community graduate is in fine form, the title track being a circuit-fried, pastoralist trance-out very much in the Fake/Hebden tradition, but with a presence, and a gradually disclosed toughness, all its own. From there we take in the dainty, pointillistic electro-pop of 'New Buildings', the chiming, autumnal, Dial-esque house minimalism of 'A Short Distance' and, in 'Silent Fall', a gorgeous, beatless display of sustained string-pads melting imperceptibly into one another. Spatially aware synth improvisation 'Overgrown' brings this surprisingly adventurous but thoroughly accessible EP to a worthy denouement.
