沒看過這部電影，據說當年原本計劃是拍成詹尼斯喬普琳的傳記電影，只是喬普琳家人不同意。其實米德勒的風格和嗓音和喬普琳還是有相當的不同，而且這張錄製于1979年的現場也有明顯的大西洋唱片公司的印記，不過現場具有喬普琳式的力度，猶以末尾的標題情歌The Rose最爲感人。
