　　Patti在1979年之后就消失了，严格的说应该是消失了18年，这18年间她和她的老公前MC5（纽约著名乐队）的吉他手Fred Sonic Smith过着隐居的生活，这期间Patti一直在家写作。然而这期间，还是有一张她的专辑面世了，这就是Dream Of Life，但这张专辑并不表示Patti的复出，因为她的下一张是等到1996年才出版，这张专辑更应该看作是Patti为了生计而从事的工作。录音室版本感觉上没有现场版那么动听，然而却有着更强更重的力度。但后面的歌曲给人的感觉一般，似乎Patti被几年的隐居生活磨平了一样，有很多首歌听上去更接近Bob Dylan的风格，一首接着一首的小品过后，专辑就已经是尾声了，不过没关系，毕竟这不是Patti真正的回归，8年之后，她会带着更棒的音乐回来人们面前。
