随便谈论"Make It Big"

1985年左右,上海,某次国际音乐节的唱片展，买到WHAM这个专辑的密纹唱片，1984年CBS原版。

那时候，威猛乐队在国风非常走红，一首《Careless Whisper》是电台播放得最多的曲目之一。威猛乐队也是第一支来国内作现场表演的西方流行乐队，这当然是在京城以外的大多数威猛的歌迷们无法一睹为快的。

可以说，George Michael是最具偶像气质的男歌星了，这位与我同龄的英国人，1963年6月25日出生在伦敦北部的郊区，受喜爱音乐父母感染，听了很多那个年代盛行的灵魂乐、舞曲乐。他的小学同学Andrew Ridgeley也是个音乐迷。1981年，他俩组成了Wham。1982年推出了首支单曲“Enjoy What You Do”。很快，Wham！的第二首单曲“Young Guns”问世。这让Wham！打进英国单曲榜上前十名。1983年，Wham！的首张专辑《Fantastic》发行，登上了全英专辑榜榜首。1984年Wham！的第二张专辑《Make It Big》大获成功，在英美两地都创下专辑排行冠军的成绩。

曾经反复地听这首《Careless Whisper》，George的嗓音、感伤的歌词、精妙的配乐，着实能让20出头的歌迷听得如痴如醉。
