I don't think you're understanding the point of the song. Louis Armstrong lived in a world where he would've been discriminated against, where war ravaged all of Europe, where pearl harbor would get attacked and where Japan would get nuked. The world he grew up in was a truly tragic one. Louis wasn't exposed to a wonderful world I, but you know what? He could still see one. By just looking at the little things and knowing that that's what made the world wonderful. And that hasn't changed.
