As If We Never Said Goodbye --將一輩子濃縮在一首歌裡

　　日落大道這部音樂劇改編自1950年代的同名黑色電影，電影中描述一位在默片時代曾經輝煌的過氣女明星以為自己可以重拾明星光環，最終卻希望落空而發瘋的故事。後來經由安德魯洛伊韋伯改編為音樂劇，全劇的高潮即是在這一首As If We Never Said Goodbye，而此曲也是女主角夢想重返舞臺心情的最佳寫照。

　　這首歌不僅旋律好聽，而且編曲和歌詞的故事性，層次感，意境和氣勢都非常棒，除了Patti LuPone，Glenn Close，還有Elaine Paige和芭芭拉史翠珊及Glee的Kurt都唱過，雖然各有特色，但總覺得沒有一個版本的唱功和情感都把這首歌發揮到極致，Elaine失之大氣癲狂，歌聲也過於黏膩，Glenn Close除唱功有待加強，詮釋上狂放有餘而熱情與回憶感不足，更不用說其他唱功佳但情感不足的歌手了。
