Royce Da 5'9"出道时本可能成为下一个底特律的主流说唱传奇，但是经纪人Kino和Dr.Dre的不和、和Eminem的疏远、和D12的beef等等都让他被打回了半地下状态。和Shady/Aftermath帝国交恶的他没有厂牌敢接，辗转多次终于在独立厂牌发行了自己的第二张个人专辑《Death is Certain》，其间他经历了和D12的音乐beef和街头战争以及beef的化解。经历了人生的大起大落，最后并不怎么高兴的Royce用制作经费并不宽裕却后来备受赞誉的《终有一死》展现自己的能力，赢回尊重。

第一首歌并没有选一个很激烈很阴暗的伴奏，而是soul风格的采样。Royce的flow依旧流畅。他表明自己不在乎过去挫折，依旧强硬，依旧不鸟。而歌词也不是来来回回的吹牛，谈论了很多刚刚过去的事。

人终有一死，就算自己不愿意，为了生存，59选择了暴力。这张专辑里多数的歌曲应该是beef其间写的，所以他所谈到的beef，都是真的，都是暴力的，危险的。
03. Throw Back
拥有急促弦乐和快节奏鼓点的这支伴奏应该是整张专辑最好的伴奏之一，59依旧没有请人唱副歌，还是自己开火，风格变得更阴暗暴力。

对于他（eminem）我太恶毒（所以才被踢出公司），对于你我太恶毒。
我的厨房很大，我们拿人肉做菜。我有夏日中最寒冷的flow，我看着他们来了又走，看着他们拙劣的flow，离开我的人比投靠我的多。
59出色的flow一向是他称霸的资本之一。在throw back里这点也展现得淋漓尽致。

Royce的暴力，因为D12和Royce都在底特律，所以在夜店发生冲突是很有可能的，很多都不是空谈。
但是当时EM基本没有参与整个beef 毕竟兄弟情义在 所以59对待他的态度还是比较cool的：

可能是因为专辑经费有限，大部分制作都是July6负责的，有的伴奏不够水平，比如我觉得这首What I Know的伴奏是莫名其妙，舒缓但并不给力。。。59为了附和节奏，flow也慢了下来，我是欣赏不了。歌词还是依旧不错的，比较喜欢这句：The old fashion rap, til it's no lights on. Royce就是要坚持自己所坚持的，直到最后。

相比What I Know又变得阴暗了一些，59在副歌质问和承诺

我本人对DJ Premier的制作风格一直不是很能欣赏的了，这只beat也一样。。。。对于他的死忠来说这歌就很享受了。
还是说说Royce吧，59说这张专辑风格病态，我并不觉得，很多时候他还是理智的思考的。他谈论rapper最初的状态Yeah, yeah, we started from nothing a couple MC's Beat-boxin, the crowd in the lunch room. 站在primo旁边很自豪啊Ninety percent of you niggas ain't hard/Here Just to Get a Rep, you not "Gang Starrs".
副歌采样了各种hiphop经典。当然了hiphop和街头、纷争永远是分不开的：

阴暗而悲伤的曲子。
第一段59描述了朋友死去的情景，却又强调说

Royce用一首暴力而略带摇滚气息的歌曲作为专辑的结尾，Royce因为各种事情变得病态。

14. Death Is Certain (Part 2) (It Hurts)
阴暗而悲伤的曲子。
第一段59描述了朋友死去的情景，却又强调说

这不会发生在我身上，我的兄弟不会，我再说一遍，不会死在我怀里。
第二段他描述兄弟的死是摸不去的痛，伤口好了还会留疤。他跟上帝说带走他的兄弟是一个错，祈祷下一个带走的是他。应该黑发人葬白发人，而不是白发人送黑发人。
第三段是把中枪的兄弟送往医院的情景，拿着钱祈求医生竭尽所能救救他，求兄弟挺住，活过来，但是一切都太晚。。。。。

Royce用一首暴力而略带摇滚气息的歌曲作为专辑的结尾，Royce因为各种事情变得病态。

我感觉这张专辑处在一个纠结的状态，一方面Royce Da 5’9”知道beef的危险，渴望兄弟、家庭平安，但一方面却不得以面对街头暴力，那既然要面对就做胜者，比别人更暴力。始终他还是明白人终有一死。Death is certain。
