Jarroussky & Scholl
“......This shows a new high point in modern Baroque practice. For now, we've had to settle for soprano singers covering the leads (weak in the low register and too bright) or the rare countertenor (too often airy). Philippe Jaroussky combines the dexterity of a soprano with the weight and warmth of a male voice. I can't tell you how much I enjoy this performance, and that it should guide further attempts to recreate the Castrato voice that we are (alas) no longer able to have."
