在太空里漂浮，在伤痛里沉沦

《Ladies and Gentlemen We Are Floating in Space》这首歌大概不能简单地算作是“好听”一类的歌，甚至听起来有点像精神分裂，没准有人还会觉得它是变相的噪音。但我很喜欢它，梦呓般的喃喃自语，带给我犹如迷幻剂以及一切药物的体验。这首歌是首神作，它的背后包含了一段野史，哦不对，是情史……在这张专辑创作之时，Spiritualized乐队的键盘手Kate Radley（也就是主唱Jason Pierce的女友）已与Jason分手，后来她嫁给了The Verve的主唱Richard Ashcroft。（我只想说，这女人真幸福，还有，她真有眼光。这么说很找抽，只是出于我喜爱Richard。）于是便有了这首欲仙欲死的歌，可以想象他是在药物的作用下创作出了这首经典之作，而整张专辑都是如此伤痛的基调。所谓醉生梦死也不过如此，我想到了王家卫的《东邪西毒》。而听到"But I don't believe, I don't believe. I could still fall in love with you."这句的时候我就又想到了《奋斗》中的陆涛，夏琳和他分手之后他去看心理医生时说，失恋？我没失恋，我怎么可能失恋呢。（联想力太丰富也不是好事）总而言之，这歌完全就是一种自我催眠。但是说来也很有意思，这张专辑是在1997年发行，而同年，The Verve也发行了一张经典唱片，并且其中也诞生了一首神作《The Drugs Don't Work》。说什么好呢，命运总是带着点讽刺。而这也印证了一句话：痛苦总是最好的灵感来源。而这首歌是首见光死的歌，也就是说，在阳光灿烂的白天并不适宜听，你会感到有点浮躁。而它也是首“耳语歌”，最适合使用耳机在夜晚独自聆听，也并不适宜拿个大喇叭放着和他人共同分享。

这支乐队在国内似乎还算冷门，但最近应该要开始红火了，因为《越狱》大结局用了他们的《Lay It Down Slow》。
