The Fray是少有的几个我会特别注意歌词的乐队。How to Save a Life的成功不光仅仅在旋律的朗朗上口，发人深省的歌词也是打动人的关键。
“I found God on the corner of First and Amistad...”, The Fray以这样的开头向我们介绍着他们的同名专辑。主唱Issac Slade说道：“第二张专辑命名为同名专辑是有原因的，这代表着我们更加明确的音乐方向。”
就音乐风格而言，这一张显然更加多元，也更加raw和edgy。Absolute的直白，You Found Me的变奏，Say When的循环，Ungodly Hour的温柔，相比于上一张的“千篇一律”，我们听到了更多色彩的The Fray。整张专辑除了Where the Story Ends和上张有很强的相似度外，我们所听到的The Fray是一支向两级拓宽音乐风格的乐队。Issac的钢琴没有变成Keane，而让人新奇的是Happiness里的吉他有很多Indie的影子。
歌词方面，Happiness无疑是我最喜欢的，"Happiness, it's like the old man told me. Look for it, and you'll never find it all. But let it go, live your life and leave it. Then one day you'll wake up and she'll be home"，这让我想起C.S.
