看Youtube上面的采访Mitski说这张专辑里面一半的歌都是在做Laurel Hell的时候写的，其实给我的感觉也是这样，这张就词曲的质量来说和上一张专辑差不多。硬要说就是制作上弦乐用的更多更明显了，不过我一直觉得对于Mitski这种艺人来说制作只能锦上添花，这张专辑最后最受欢迎的歌My Love Mine All Mine就是属于专辑里面制作相对简单的那一部分，Mitski最厉害的一直都是歌词，所以这里也就一首首侃一侃我对她词的感受。

没有什么出彩的句子。Bug like an angel看似是一个“聪明”的比喻但是对于整首歌而言意义非常小，对于整张专辑的第一句来说，opportunity wasted。

最好的一首，刚开始那一句就直奔主题“Mosquitoes can enjoy me, I can't go inside”可能是整张专辑里记忆度最高的一句，对于整首歌而言它也并非是无意义的，蚊虫，意义不明的“kids”（血色子午线），在黑暗中奔驰的萤火虫，再从萤火虫转到运货火车再转到平原上不再常见的水牛，这就是美国西部平原！第二段的再来和吸自己血的蚊子对话（“she”，注意吸血的都是母蚊子；），Queen！这首歌也指明了专辑名称的含义，一片空有蚊虫而没有水牛的土地是Inhospitable的，一个无法享受自己的人也是Inhospitable的，这里用了inhospitable的两个含义，一是不宜居住的（水牛），二是不好客的，在这里“客”既是自己。

非常Mitski的主题，单方面的爱，还行吧，“coffee”那句还挺可爱的，但是我还是更喜欢“Strawberry Blond”里面那句“And the grass where you lay left a bed in your shape/I looked over it and I ached”，比“murmuring brook/Curving about you”要直接也要感人的多，其实对于这张专辑里面很多其他的歌也是一样，神的七七八八的东西扯太多了“人”的东西也就少了。

后面用弦乐来模拟的小鸟的声音还挺有趣的，但是朋友们你们知道这个deal到底是什么以及how is this relevent?

专辑里唯二的高潮，留下了另一个记忆点“Moon, a hole of light/Through the big top tent up high”，非常美的意象，虽然后面就全在水了，不过旋律挺简单上口的，也不太适合作诗；）。

Isn't that worth holding on?

意象比较模糊混乱，“two fool”是在指双星吗？如果单单只是把爱比做“星星”，然后再说“爱已经消失，但是光还在”，这个反射弧稍微有点长也有点混乱，再加上一个同样模糊的“leftover light burning”，我觉得是有太多相似的东西混在在一起以至于表达出来的东西也非常模糊。

可以理解为是感情之中的不对等关系，也可以理解为Mitski和她歌迷之间的爱恨情仇，对于Mitski这样一个对成为一个“公众形象”厌恶到甚至准备放弃自己的音乐生涯的人来说，她和歌迷之间的关系的确可以用“dog-angel”以及“man-dog”来指射，之后先是极端“So when you leave me, I should die”，再是imposter syndrome“One day you'll figure me out”，最后是胜利“I betray you like a man”，同时也小小的讽刺了一下男性气质（Me and My Husband），是成功完整的歌词。

Mitski discography 里面少见的“分手之后爱自己”之歌，少见也是有它的原因的，一不小心没认真看歌词就会理所应当的感觉又是一首“sad break-up song”，对于专辑结尾来说无可厚非，留下一个稍微正面的余韵。

整体来说，Buffalo Replaced和I'm Your Man两首最好，My Love Mine All Mine也挺好，不过剩余的都是filler水平，和Laurel Hell差不多，但是和再之前几张金句频出也还是有差距，不过可以想见Mitski的确想要用更模糊的意象（在这张专辑里的体现就是对biblical vocabulary的滥用）来保护自己，不知道下一张（如果还有的话）姐是不是想一路走到黑。
