《Desperado》关于中文译文已纠结太久，虽然Desperado来自于西班牙语‘失意之人’，我也曾和多数人一样希望赋予他更洒脱的代号，但反复推敲之后，仍是觉得‘亡命之徒’最为精准、贴切。
1973年《Desperado》作为The Eagles推出的第二张专辑，是一张半概念形式的唱片。整张专辑以十九世纪末美国中西部为背景，讲述了一名叫Dooling Dalton的青年，作为法外之徒的未卜的征程。
每每都是
在飞驰途中
在陌生异地
在慵懒午后
在落雨深夜
与它不期而遇......
当你沉浸其中,总有一种大漠孤烟直，日暮苍山远的意境。
细细把玩，牛仔与浪子确有太多相似之处：
他们不羁亦不失侠义之举
他们血里有风注定漂泊
往昔，也许在半梦半醒间想起
今朝，又是一场未知的征途
desperado, why don´t you come to your senses?
you been out ridin´ fences for so long now
oh, you´re a hard one
i know that you got your reasons
these things that are pleasin´ you
can hurt you somehow
don´ you draw the queen of diamonds, boy
she´ll beat you if she´s able
you know the queen of heats is always your best bet
now it seems to me, some fine things
have been laid upon your table
but you only want the ones that you can´t get
