ICON 解读与翻译

这里的icon应该是（Daniel的）母亲，intro描绘了母亲生前的片段——主要是自己对母亲的回避，outro则是感受到母亲来自另一个世界的召唤。反复的I'm on my way now，似乎有多重意味，既指符合自己规划的人生轨迹（理想已经实现，并期待未来能够继续履行对家庭的责任），又指人生之路必然会走向终点。因而这两部分以及贯穿全曲的riff都充满压抑的宿命感和对抗感，此外，riff很像是延续和改编自上一张专辑中的曲目If This Is the End，两首歌同样表达了死亡焦虑，同样具有转场突兀的效果。

两段verse是每个人（或大多数人）都会感受到的无奈，包括儿童时期的死亡焦虑，成长过程中内心与世界的矛盾。

chorus部分，对母亲的回忆和告白充满了柔情与平静，还有类似乐队老歌1979中的怀旧。bridge则是这个内心纯真又沧桑、如今自己即将步入知天命之年而稚子尚且年幼的男人，向着远在天国的母亲倾吐了自己出于亲情和责任的坚持，倔强中透露出沉重、思念等情绪。

专辑主题上，Daniel中二爆表（褒义），唯独终曲流露出些许苍老与脆弱，我因此震惊和感慨不已。发布2年后，因为体会到Panther的处境，才对本专主题感到共鸣。
