一天我侄子丢给我一张CD，说，这个你可以听听。他经常会向我推荐一些音乐CD，所以我也见怪不怪。
看了眼名字——Jeff Buckley，似乎在哪里见过，一时却又没什么清晰印象。开始翻封面介绍，是个蛮漂亮的男人，一脸的纯净无邪，有一张照片看上去极像演《蜘蛛侠》里演绿魔儿子的詹姆斯·弗兰克（James Franco）。突然间电光火石，这人莫不是…… 问我侄子“这歌手是什么人”，答曰：已经死了，就出过这么一张专辑。
没错，Jeff Buckley——正是Orlando Bloom最喜欢的那个歌手。
Jeff Buckley出生于美国南部加州，五岁那年，他发现了祖母的一把吉他就开始自学。
17岁时，他离家开始在Hollywood发展，参加过一些摇滚和雷吉乐队，也散发了一些录音作品以挣些小钱。
1990年，Buckley搬到了纽约，和当地一些乐队一起表演，随后就开始创作自己的作品。
1994那年，Buckley出了一张EP Live at Sin-e和唯一的一张亲自参与制作的专辑Grace。
1997年5月29日，Buckley溺亡于孟菲斯城附近的密西西比河中，年仅30岁。
早亡似乎是他们家族的宿命。他的父亲、著名的民谣歌手兼词曲作者Tim Buckley，1975年6月29日死于过量吸毒，年仅28岁。
在电影《伊丽莎白镇》中，Orlando扮演的Drew带着父亲的骨灰，依照女友的拼贴册子，开始在音乐中穿行美国。其中一站就行经了Jeff Buckley葬身于此的密西西比河上的大桥。

Jeff Buckley的歌绝不是琅琅上口的那种，适合寂静的夜晚或是孤独一人时慢慢听、慢慢听。天生的忧郁，敏感而又袒露，总是有痛苦的味道萦绕其间。我自己很喜欢的是其中翻唱的一首“Hallelujah”，是整张专辑中比较少有的不那么忧郁的歌。一遍一遍听他淡淡地唱“Hallelujah，Hallelujah，Hallelujah……”，仿佛曾经沧海的淡定，无怨无悔，至情至性，弥漫着一种无言的光辉。
我是因为Orlando Bloom才第一次听说Jeff Buckley这个名字。Orlando说：Jeff Buckley reminds me of the fragility of life...and the freedom as well（他让我记起生命的脆弱……还有自由）。 而Orlando最喜欢他的一首歌叫作Lover, You Should've Come Over，很忧伤动情的歌……
