用心去歌唱，哪怕是奇怪的歌唱

这一刻我只想这样来形容他
Robert Smith是个神奇的人。想想二十几岁的他把自己化妆成他妈妈的样子，在花园里和他的女朋友踢足球会是什么样子。
他一直在歌唱他的心，然而他的心太不同寻常，许多人不会理解。

这是一张听了很久的合集。有什么能比它更好的概括the cure的十年呢？

经典之作如Just Like Heaven，Lullaby，Lovesong，Firday I'm in love不用赘述了。我只想花很大很大的篇幅说track 16: Strange Attraction.

这首歌最近让我着魔，不仅因为唱腔，不仅因为旋律，精致的编曲，而是因为...Robert Smith这首歌里写的确确实实就是自己的故事。这太让人疯狂了。他就以这样诗化的方式把自己的心捧出来给人检阅。

它写的是Robert Smith自己作为一个著名歌星，和一个女歌迷的感情纠葛。。。。

歌词写得很灵巧。文学性，诗化。修辞用的很美。关于红色的意象很有意思：女孩名字是blossom，信是红色（red, blood) 的笔迹，吻也是crimson的；还有翅膀的意向，"wings"：她信上的蝴蝶翅膀拼出他的名字（猜想是Smith这个词，很容易做成翅膀的形状）；还有一直唱的那句话， strange attraction spreads its wings. 似乎是双关的。

好吧，下面字面对照着分析一下（跟玩侦探似的。。。我喜欢玩文字的侦探游戏）

一个女孩，他的歌迷，崇拜他，非常崇拜他。最开始她写信给他，在他过生日的时候（Smith的生日是4月21号，维基百科告诉我们的），她说"我迷失在对你的崇拜和爱慕之中，生日快乐，我永远是你的"。

six months went by the summer lost
obsessively the letters dropped into my life
the same soft blood smooth flowing hand
"please try to understand - i have to see you - have to feel you -
tell you all the ways i need you - yours forever in love... "

过了6个月，夏天过去了。（当然了，4月之后就是夏天了）。
即，直到10月份，她不停的给他写信，说"请你理解我怎样的想见你，想向你解释我怎样需要你..."

接下来到了年末。她的信里引用诗歌。当Smith看到她用了他自己最喜欢的一个语句之后笑了。
他写了一张圣诞卡给她，安排了见面的时间和地点。

"can i use some of your lipstick?"

i couldn't help but feel that it was real
and kissing crimson fell into her waiting arms...

他们见面了（歌星和歌迷的见面耶！）时间应该是圣诞节之后。
在Smith看来，她的开场是经过精心准备的："一个紧张的微笑"。Smith无法把目光从她身上移开。她小声说，"我可不可以借用一下你的口红？"
这个细节可见，之一，这真的是Smith大叔本人的故事；之二，这个叫Blossom的女孩对他的obssession到了什么程度。
Smith大叔觉得这一切是真的（爱恋，etc），他的亲吻流入她期待的怀里。。。注意，用的是省略号。歌星和无比爱慕他的女歌迷见了面会发生什么事情，大家可以自己去猜。

他孤独的度过了新年，再没收到她的一个字。他写信给她，问是否春天开始之前再见面。
过了几个星期，没有回音。直到4月份，他的生日又到来了，她来了消息，内容出乎他的意料。

"i'm sorry - blame infatuation - blame imagination -
i was sure you'd be the one but i was wrong -
it seems reality destroys our dreams - i won't forget you - blossom"
faded red inside a tiny book of old goodbyes...

她写道，"我很抱歉，都怪我愚蠢的迷恋，怪我的想象。我曾经确信你就是那个我需要的人但是我错了 。

于是故事结束了。这首歌的大意，用最直白的语言概括一下呢，就是，这种奇怪的吸引力，偶像光环，是很不靠谱很虚无缥渺的很多变的。
不过这也是废话，而Smith居然要以身试法之后才有体验。呵呵。也许这也是他和常人不一样的地方之一。
