在采访中自述受到Jeff Buckley，Fiona Apple，Joni Mitchell等音乐人的启发，Madison Cunningham用充满质感和独特魅力的嗓音带来了一个很丰富的作品，Who Are You Now既有爵士的元素，又有在微妙的民谣摇滚中摇摆的身影，同时游走在流行边缘而充满了独特的味道。而精致的吉他演奏也为这张作品增色不少。
Pin It Down是一个满分的开始，右声道突出的吉他声将律动打开，加之颇有爵士色彩的节奏，讲述失败的感情——“When I shut it out it still hurts the same somehow / And I’m standing right where I said I would never be” ——“I can’t pin it / I can’t pin it down / I can’t pin it / But I think we’ve been here once before”—— saying; “I’ll be the first to admit I don’t like where we are either, but one of us has to change and it’s not me”.

她自由的游走在不同速度和不同风格间：Trouble Found Me轻快俏皮，Looking Alive带着爵士的色彩跳动，Common Language飘动不定的旋律和氛围，Like You Do淡淡的哀伤……以及最精彩的Dry As Sand，缓慢，黑暗并充满思考。
她带有些节奏的歌曲充满律动和活泼，慢速的歌曲又是很有味道，适合在黑夜中享用，并沉思。
当在采访中被问及：“Let’s talk about your new record, “Who Are You Now.” What was the inspiration for this collection?”[2]
她的回答是“Most of the songs are from the perspective of a young adult making a departure from their upbringing, to know real love and loss for themselves. When there’s no covering over you, like parents, or friends, or certainty, “Who Are You Now?”. It felt like I kept being confronted with that question in my life. A subconscious phrase that found me at the highest, and lowest points. ”
她有着这个年龄对于世界的独特反思，正如在Song In My Head中，她唱到：“I do my best to listen/But I’m uncomfortable with too much silence.”
整张专辑的曲目不仅有出色的结构，而且有出色的吉他演奏；Madison Cunningham富有质感的人声引导了整张专辑的走向，却并不使人感到厌烦，她没有特意追求什么“独立”或是”另类“，只是很简单的，去用她的表达方式记录了她的现在。无论如何都不能否认，这是一张精彩的作品。
