我只来说一说第一首：Mr. Blue Sky

昨晚到今天一直很迷E.L.O.的这首小歌...其实当然不是小歌，它是分成数段式的，每一段风格都有变化，编曲做的极其复杂，非常精致。
听了N多遍，然后仔细的研究一下，真是不得了。就这么一首5分钟的歌，它的编排却比许许多多的流行歌曲的总和加起来还要复杂。
这首歌和那个年代的Queen，The Who，The Beatles的某些作品绝对可以媲美。

开头是无线电噪音，然后迅速进入第一主题，进行曲似的欢快，很带劲。跟着摇头晃脑的那种：
 
Sun is shinin' in the sky
There ain't a cloud in sight
It's stopped rainin' ev'rybody's in a play
And don't you know
It's a beautiful new day hey,hey
 
Runnin' down the avenue
See how the sun shines brightly in the city
On the streets where once was pity
Mister blue sky is living here today hey, hey
 
然后是chorus的重复，两个以上声部的叠唱，和声非常优美。反复两遍：
 
Mister blue sky please tell us why
You had to hide away for so long
Where did we go wrong?
 
中间一段电吉他过渡，很轻快流畅。
之后回归进行曲第二主题：
 
Hey you with the pretty face
Welcome to the human race
A celebration, mister blue sky's up there waitin'
And today is the day we've waited for
 
紧接着第二次chorus：
 
Mister blue sky please tell us why
You had to hide away for so long
Where did we go wrong?
 
一遍后改为另一个调式的chorus，反复两遍：
 
Hey there mister blue
We're so pleased to be with you
Look around see what you do
Ev'rybody smiles at you
 
接下来以电子混音的失真声音再重复，而且又换了个调式：
 
Mister blue sky, mister blue sky
Mister blue sky
 
回归进行曲，但是和前两个主题都有所不同：
 
Mister blue, you did it right
But soon comes mister night creepin' over
Now his hand is on your shoulder
Never mind I'll remember you this
I'll remember you this way
 
之后，回归chorus的最初形式，在另一个调式上重复：
 
Mister blue sky please tell us why
You had to hide away for so long

Hey there mister blue
We're so pleased to be with you

Ev'rybody smiles at you
 
继而加入女高音的合唱团，男中音的伴唱，有古典歌剧的味道：
 
Ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba
Ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba
 
然后，一直贯穿乐曲的鼓点戛然停止。新的节奏感突然凸现，接下来的曲子完全改换成另一个的节拍上的演绎，这是一小段节奏感很强的摇滚乐，也伴随着人声的合唱，最后以平和的弦乐结束。
结尾再用失真的电子声音重复Mr. Blue Sky.
精巧，复杂，宏大，创意，总之是相当优秀的作品。

关于这个叫ELO的乐队：
Electric Light Orchestra (ELO) was a successful Birmingham, England rock music group of the 1970s and 1980s. They incorporated the sounds of string ensembles, vocoders and dub echos into rock songs, thereby creating a very sophisticated studio version of rock. The musical content of ELO songs often went far beyond usual chord structures, mixing pop songwriting with classical romanticism and synthesized sounds.
 
ELO是一只来自英国伯明翰的摇滚乐队，在70，80年代很成功。他们的曲子大大超越了通常意义上的以和弦为主导的流行音乐，而是加入了合成器处理的效果，甚至成功的融合古典音乐元素，这些都使他们的音乐非常与众不同。他们经常在摇滚乐里运用弦乐，电子处理的失真人声和回声混响，以此创造出非常复杂精致的效果。
 
ELO他们并不是唯一一个这样的乐队，类似风格的尝试在某种程度上已经成为七八十年代的英国摇滚的特点。参见Queen（他们的音乐是摇滚乐，但是有歌剧般的华丽，代表性的如Bohemian Rhapsody），The Who（根本就录了一张整个的摇滚歌剧专辑，即Tommy），这种风格带着七八十年代的标签，被定义为progressive rock.
 
其实ELO他们不是一个人（废话！！）。这首歌的编排方式中有很多其他乐队的影子：除了以上提到的Queen和The Who，还有The Beatles，The Beach Boys.
 
The Beatles从很多方面来说都是始祖啊，Mr. Blue Sky结尾节拍的变化就是Beatles用惯了的，参见Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds （开头是三拍子, 中间的chorus是四拍子），A Day in the Life（开头的John主题和中间的Paul主题构成了多么明显的反差），等等。
 
The Beach Boys从很多方面来讲都是可能与The Beatles抗衡的乐队。不信你可以去听Good Vibrations，他们最著名的歌，编曲的复杂性和对新声音效果的尝试绝对不亚于甲壳虫的某些作品。
