EXCELLENT!
After waiting for 5 years, Enya has just released her latest album Amarantine on 22 November.
This album is quite a mix blend of old and new. Some songs (like the theme-bearing Amarantine) are very much consistent with the “Enya-style” — just like the famous “Orinoco Flows”, “Carribean Blue” and “Only Time” — at least you should know “Only Time”, it’s the heart-breaking theme song in the romantic movie “Sweet November” starring Keanu Reeve. Elegance, fantasy and positive values are carried by the angel voice and classical instruments. If you love the previous master works, you will enjoy these typical Enya songs. On the other hand, there are also some new elements. For example, Sumiregusa (which means Wild Violet)is sang in Japanese. And the lyricist Roma Ryan has given up the languages previously used (Welsh, Gaelic, Spanish and Latin) . A few songs have been filled with the fictional language Loxian which was inspired by Tolkien’s Elvish.
For me, the theme-bearing Amarantine is my favourite. The melody and mood is great, and the lyrics also plays a crucial role. I really love the lyrics. Simple words bear numerous thoughts that can impress almost every soul.
