This is a band at the very forefront of the folk revival movement sweeping across China, who meld together the musical soundscapes of old and new China with striking effect. Manhu share instruments and songs that are well-known in their homeland but rarely heard outside of China, until this rich international debut by a band who have been nurturing their sound for over fifteen years. Manhu brings to life the traditions of the Yi people, an ethnic minority group with a rich musical history.
