From acoustic ballads to synth and feedback driven drones to up-tempo rockers, Phonograph is breaching something beyond the front porch of Americana. The band blends their shared sensibility and aesthetic of influences, at the same time each member brings his own personal experience to the table. John Davis came from Jojo Mayers band, Nerve, a live electronic act, while also residing as head engineer at The Bunker Studio's in Brooklyn where the new Phonograph LP was recorded. Dave Burnett is an accomplished jazz trained drummer that has the sensibility of a young Elvin Jones with the animalistic brutality of John Bonham. Abe Selferth is an accomplished guitarist and a recognized MOOG artist.
Phonograph has toured with bands like Wilco and have shared the stage with legends like The Waco Brothers. Constantly teetering between the lines of traditional and experimental, Phonograph is ever evolving into it's own genre.
