Omnibus (Latin, "for all") was an American educational television series broadcast from 1952 until 1961. Initially sponsored by the Ford Foundation, its diverse programmes covered arts, science, and humanities. Notably, it featured Leonard Bernstein in seven episodes about music. These appearances were, in order of broadcast date:
1. Beethoven's Fifth Symphony (1954)
2. The World of Jazz (1955)
3. The Art of Conducting (1955)
4. American Musical Comedy (1956)
5. Introduction to Modern Music (1957)
6. The Music of Johann Sebastian Bach (1957)
7. What Makes Opera Grand? (1958)
Omnibus was hosted by Alistair Cooke and had won more than 65 awards, including seven Emmy Awards and two Peabody Awards. The Bernstein Omnibus programmes were released in a 4-DVD set in 2010.
