自从在《Elf》里首次献声之后，在之后的《Winter Passing》、《Bridge to Terabithia》、《Raving》、《The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford》里我们都能听到Zooey的歌声。而在为07年的圣丹斯影片《The Go-Getter》录制原声带时，Zooey结识了音乐制作人兼民谣歌手M.Ward。有一次，两人聊到各自喜爱的老唱片时，Zooey拿出了一些自己写的歌，M.Ward惊叹于Zooey的talent。虽然有些害羞，但Zooey最终被说服，两人组成了乐队She&Him，Zooey是主音和键盘，M.Ward负责吉他和编曲制作。
曲目有9首Zooey的原创作品，以及包括the Beatles的《I Should Have Known Better》在内的3首翻唱老歌，和一个录音室demo。
