在3月份，乐队推出了第一张唱片Deja Vu（他们的下一张录音室作品要在18年后才能问世）。这张专辑在整个七十年代都可以说是十分重要具有经典位置的专辑，里面收录了四位巨星分别创作的作品，并具有不同的特点。crosby注重于民谣摇滚，stephen stills爱好的是节奏布鲁斯老摇滚风格，而nash的作品更为流行化。当然，专辑里面最出色的还是老扬的一首helpless，笔者也非常钟爱此曲，优美舒缓的旋律，配上简单隽永的歌词，每次听起来都让人有恍如隔世之感。

老扬从bufallo springfield单飞之后，于1969推出了个人首张同名专辑，客观些讲，唱片不能算十分出色，这当然是同他以前的作品相比较而言。整张专辑虽然没有特别出色的作品，但还是有两首经典流传下来，一首是摇滚的 The Loner ，另一首就是民谣作品：The Old Laughing Lady。这恰好说明了老杨音乐中的两个极端，狂暴与感性。专辑里面，老杨显得踌躇满志，调子是比较低沉的，这和他当时２４岁的年纪是很不相符的。

7月10日，这张新专辑on the beach正式出版。应该说，它并没有延续上一张未发表专辑的"另类"风格，但其音乐本质没有变，仍然属于比较个人化的，不太讨巧市场的音乐。而虽然这张唱片一直到不久前才推出它的cd版本，可还是有很多乐迷奉为自己的最爱，当年的lp黑胶碟在网上已经炒到了天价。　 　　 　　本人只有它的mp3压缩版本，听的次数不太多，感觉既没有以往的风格，也没有上一张的颠覆感，还是比较折衷的一张专辑。之所以受不少人的追捧，据说是因为它的歌词占了很重要的部分。本人英语水平较烂，无法领会更多。但明显的是，neil正在寻找更多的音乐途径，以期打破以往自己打造起来的固定模式。这是很正常的，每个有上进心的音乐家都会不失时机的寻找突破。不过这也只能算是个过渡时期，毕竟这张专辑里的作品在以后的时间内已经很少被老扬拿出来演唱了。 　　唱片还是集合了老扬的众多好友，甚至包括了band中的两位乐手。其中取名为blues的歌就有三首，另外还有一首Motion Pictures (For Carrie)，明显是写给他新交往的女朋友的， Carrie Snodgrass，是加拿大出身的一个女电影明星，似乎还获得过奥斯卡奖，不过去年这位老太太因病去世了。 　　walk on还是比较熟悉的老扬风格，这是大碟中唯一一首由疯马乐队伴奏的歌。其他的对本人来讲印象都不太深。
