Aaron Neville聆听记(一)——序及《Warm Your Heart》
所以,刻薄点的评论者完全可以将他的专辑编号:《Warm Your Heart 1》《Warm Your Heart 2》《Warm Your Heart 3》…… Lay down my dear brother, lay down and take your rest I want to lay your head upon your savior’s breast I love you, but jesus loves you best I bid you goodnight, goodnight, goodnight I bid you goodnight, goodnight, goodnight Lay down my dear brother, lay down and take your rest I want to lay your head upon your savior’s breast I love you, but jesus loves you best I bid you goodnight, goodnight, goodnight I bid you goodnight, goodnight, goodnight One of these mornings bright and early and soon, goodnight Now they’re pickin’ up the spirit to the shore beyond, goodnight Go walking in the valley of the shadow of death, goodnight He’s riding a staff, gonna comfort me, goodnight Join the wise, there’s a soul to find, goodnight Lord send a fire, not a flood next time, goodnight To leave for the ark, that wonderful boat, goodnight She really loaded down, getting water to float, goodnight Now pray for the beast at the ending of the world, goodnight He loved the children that would not be good, goodnight I remember rather well, I remember right well, goodnight I went walking to Jerusalem just like john Goodnight, goodnight, goodnight Lay down my dear brother, lay down and take your rest I wanna lay your head upon your saviors breast I love you, but jesus loves you best I bid you goodnight, goodnight, goodnight I bid you goodnight, goodnight, goodnight http://www.baboon1900.com/?p=165

The music game has its own cruel logic. If you're lucky or gifted enough to have a hit song, you're asked to come up with another one almost immediately. Then again...And again. Most fall apart right there. If you don't, you've made it into a very exclusive club. Even if you do, as time marches on Radio and TV - the Balkans of demographics - consign nearly every performer to a neat, small pocket of appeal. Listeners outside of that niche don't even get a chance to hear your stuff. But every so often a musical act comes along who perform songs which are so universal in their appeal, so profound in their impact, so eclectic in their tastes, that they break through the typical constraints. These are the Legends, the Rock and Roll Hall of Famers, the Members of the Songwriters Hall Of Fame... Queen, with all 4 original members writing #1 hits, with songs which are played at every radio format every day, are one of those Legends. They rock as hard as anyone, anywhere; they've touched on Tin Pan Alley Pop and performed heart wrenching soul like they were channeling the greats of that genre. They've had Dance hits, rockabilly hits, they've had softer material that translates to any audience in the mood for quiet reflection. The band INVENTED the stadium anthem. Their collaboration with film-makers and other musical artists continue to reverberate. Heck their original singer wrote some of the most moving songs about facing life and facing life after one's death EVER. ……
