I don't know what to say about this CD, but music like this needs no detailed comments anyway. When it comes to tone control and pedaling, Horowitz is absolutely peerless and leaves every other pianist in dust. As someone said, he is the only pianist that could play color. When it comes to tone control and pedaling, Horowitz is absolutely peerless and leaves every other pianist in dust. As someone said, he is the only pianist that could play color. That makes him incomparable in these (mostly) romantic works, where his magic truly shines through.
